The Passive House Institute (PHI), Darmstadt, Germany, is an important centre for defining energy efficiency standards for the European Union and leads its transition to the construction and thermal modernisation of buildings according to NZEB principles. Founded in 1996 by Dr. Wolfgang Feist, PHI plays a decisive role in the implementation of the Passive House concept, which has become a global benchmark for energy efficiency. Its developments are used as a guide for sustainability policies, technical planning and the implementation of construction projects in many countries around the world. PHI works closely with governments, international organisations and the European Commission to develop common standards for achieving energy efficiency. The European Commission is developing common standards for achieving climate goals. It includes an ambitious package of measures supporting the introduction of energy-efficient technologies, reducing CO2 emissions and stimulating investments in sustainable development. Thanks to the efforts of PHI and the Green Deal, Europe is adopting best practices in modernization and construction, improving quality of life, ensuring social justice in the transition to a sustainable economy and keeping Europe at the forefront of global climate change… Since 2018, the Energy Alliance has been cooperating with PHI. Joint work on the implementation of a project in Ukraine for the certification of typical school buildings under the comprehensive regional renewal program “Initiative”. Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine 1159 of October 14, 2022. Expert work is underway.
