The project brings together nine regional partners from six EU countries and one candidate country, as well as associated participants working to improve policies on the certification and implementation of bio-based building materials in the construction industry.
One of the key participants of the Industrial Association “Vidnovlennia,” the Energy Alliance, has become a partner of the ABC program. As part of the initiative, the Alliance actively promotes the integration of advanced carbon footprint certification methodologies in the construction sector. This encourages the use of innovative materials such as straw and bamboo to reduce CO2 emissions.
The ABC project is focused on developing and adapting regional policies that support environmentally friendly building materials, improving financing instruments, and establishing regulatory frameworks for the use of natural solutions in construction. One of the key aspects will be the implementation of the ONCRA (Open Natural Carbon Removal Accounting) system, which will enable more accurate accounting of the carbon sequestration of building materials.
